Fecal samples collected 1 day before antibiotic treatment and 5 days before sacrifice were used for microbial DNA extraction and high-throughput sequencing. Fecal microbial DNA was extracted using the DNeasy PowerSoil Kit (QIAGEN, Germantown, MD, USA), and the V4-V5 hypervariable region of the prokaryotic 16S rRNA gene was amplified and sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform at Guangdong Meilikang Bio-Sciences Ltd., China. |
