Title Verasper variegatus genome
Relevance Agricultural
Data types Whole genome sequencing
Organisms Verasper variegatus
Description Both eyes are on the same side of head is the most typical feature of flatfish, which is one of the most significant phenotypic innovations in vertebrates. Three "left-eye" flounder genomes have been published, including Cynoglossus semilaevis, Scophthalmus maximus and Paralichthys olivaceus. Here, we constructed a reference genome for Verasper variegatus, a rare right-eye marine flounder, with the aim to perfect the flounder genomic resources.
