Organisms Thinopyrum elongatum
Description Thinopyrum elongatum (syn. Agropyron elongatum or Lophopyrum elongatum) is a grass of the Triticeae family with a diploid E genome (2n = 2X = 14) that is native to Eurasia and which is thought to be the basic genome donor for various tetra-, hexa-, and even deca-ploid species in the Thinopyrum genus. We sequenced and assembled the genome of T. elongatum using a combination of technologies, which resulted in a 4.63 Gb assembly with a contig N50 size of 2.15 Mb and a scaffold N50 size of 73.24 Mb. A total of 141 scaffolds were anchored and oriented onto 7 pseudo-chromosomes, which account for 96% of the estimated genome size (4.78 Gb,) and 98% of the assembled genome sequences.
