Description |
Meth mouth is one of the typical signs and symptoms of methamphetamine users. Although altered gut microbiota is reported, the impact of MA on the oral microbiome has never been investigated. The objectives of this current study were 1) to characterize the bacterial microbiota in saliva of MA users and abstainers; 2) to test whether the signature of salivary microbiota would be used to discriminate MA user from non-user. In order to investigate these two questions, we compared the salivary microbiota composition of MA users (N=45), MA short-term (N=32) and long-term abstainers (N=33) with non-users (N=40). |
