Title Genome resequencing of Brassica napus accessions
Relevance Agricultural
Data types Whole genome sequencing
Organisms Brassica napus
Description We resequenced 588 B. napus accessions, identified approximately 5.3 million single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Subsequently, we combined the resequencing data of B. napus with previously published resequencing data of B. rapa and B. oleracea for investigating the accurate ancestral subtaxa of B. napus. Then, the pseudo-wild populations of A and C subgenomes in B. napus were generated for identify selection signals and genes involved in domestication and improvement in B. napus. In addition, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) was performed to detect significantly associated loci underlying important agronomic traits. These findings provide insight into better understanding the origin and genomic evolution of B. napus and lay a foundation for identification and characterization of candidate genes underlying important agronomic traits. The large quantity of variation resources should facilitate modern breeding of B. napus.
