Description |
Adult cells can be converted into pluripotent stem cells using the induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology. The reprogramming process can generate a cell clone from one or a few cells. So we can use the iPSC-based cell reprogramming as an effective cell cloning strategy to amplify a single-cell genome. We design an experiment to detect the genome mutation patterns of two cell clones which were derived from one single neural stem cell. These two clones have rare preexisting mutations because of only a few times divisions. Background mutations in the single parental cell can be detected based on the result that a small number of variants occurred in the iPSC induction process. |
