Description Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) is the main type II enzyme of PRMTs in mammals, and it is known to associate with normal hematopoiesis and self-renewal of leukemia stem cells. However, it remains unclear whether PRMT5 plays a role in B-cell development process, and whether PRMT5 involves in the pathogenesis of acute B-lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), the most common type of pediatric leukemia.
